COVID-19 Update

CRRC is still in Phase 2 of its Emergency Preparedness Plan.  Our locations have different steps to take because of the different activities that take place in each.

Currently, the new Resource Center (in Sattler) has adopted further precautionary measures to continue to serve food pantry customers. However, customers need to call in, at 830-964-2324, for curbside pick-up. They will not come in the building, but will be brought their groceries at the rear entrance to the new building. We continue to provide two weeks worth of food to families that come in for food assistance.

The Thrift Store is closed, in accordance with the Governor’s order, until May 1 – at which point the situation will be re-assessed.

The Rec Center has closed. All classes have been canceled. The Community Center Building and the Senior Activities are closed and cancelled.

Please watch here for an updated list of needed items for the food pantry.

cereals – all kinds

jam and jelly

children’s healthy snacks – granola bars, jerky, nuts, fruit snacks, crackers, maybe pudding cups.

The CRRC Food Pantry will remain open as long as we are safely able to serve our clients while giving careful attention to the health and safety of our staff and volunteers. At the present time, our volunteers are selecting items in accordance with clients’ wishes while clients wait in our lobby. We cannot currently accommodate clients doing their own shopping. We apologize for this inconvenience. We are also not able to do financial assistance at this time. This is Phase 1 of our Emergency Preparedness Plan.

Phase 2 would require clients to wait outside for their food. They could call ahead if they so desire. We will check them in remotely, providing curbside pickup.

Phase 3 would transition to grocery delivery to our regular clients. Phase 4 would require complete closure of the food pantry building.

Race to the Pantry – our annual 5k and 10k benefiting the CRRC Food Pantry – is scheduled for Saturday, December 19, 2020. Click on the picture for more information.
